About me

Uniting Engineering & Code: My Story
From the foundations of Chemical Engineering to the complexities of Nuclear Power, and now delving into Data Science and Development, my journey has been fueled by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and continuous learning
An Engineer at Heart
My foundation in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University anchored me to the core principles of systems, processes, and efficiency. This engineering mindset propelled me to tackle some of the nuclear industry's most demanding challenges, from managing critical systems within plants to leading troubleshooting teams with agility and precision.
Coder by Skill
As the digital age unfurled its potential, I saw an opportunity: the marriage of engineering thought with the versatility of code. With certifications in Neural Networks and Natural Language Processing, I embarked on a mission to harness the transformative power of data science. Whether it's deploying neural networks for accurate forecasting or leveraging Python to monitor plant parameters, my coding abilities have consistently elevated the standards of technical problem-solving.
Driven by Real-world Challenges
It isn't just about the theoretical for me. The real thrill lies in applying these skills to tangible issues. Predicting frazil ice formations, designing advanced alarm systems, or extracting vital information from narrative logs — each challenge is a testament to the synergy of engineering and coding in action.
Today, as I further my academic endeavors with a Master's in Data Science from NJIT, my commitment remains unwavering: to bridge the worlds of engineering and coding, driving operational excellence through data.
Join me as I continue to shape a future where technical challenges meet their most innovative solutions.

Experience
Here is a quick summary of my most recent experiences:
Monitoring & Diagnostic (M&D) Analyst
- Nuclear Analyst for all PSEG Nuclear sites
- Monitor plant parameters and initiate action on degrading trends
- Utilize advanced pattern recognition software and custom built applications to identify trends
- Utilize coding skills to automate various processes throughout plant
Feb 2017 - Present
System Engineer
- System manager for numerous critical systems
- Routinely lead troubleshooting efforts on emergent equipment issues
- Engineering supervisor during refuel outages, providing managerial guidance, technical instruction, and safety briefs for engineering staff
Aug 2012 - Feb 2017
Project
Some of the noteworthy projects I have built:
Frazil Ice Prediction
- Developed a highly accurate logistic regression model for predicting frazil ice formation and its impact on water pump operation
- Integrated historical data and NOAA sources to provide up to 48-hour forecasts, surpassing existing methods
- Continuously refining the model by incorporating additional variables and implementing live data acquisition for proactive risk mitigation and smooth operations

Steam Flow Degradation Detection
- Steam flow indication is a critical parameter in Nuclear, requiring immediate action if outside of normal
- This requires expensive coordination of many departments
- This cost can be very high if calibration is required unexpectedly during a weekend shift
- Model developed to identify as early as possible when steam flow indication is beginning to degrade
- This gives immediate notification to the operating crew, allowing precious time to plan calibration

Natural Language Processing
- Nuclear engineers must keep track of when and how often critical safety equipment is rendered unavailable
- Historically, this has required many man-hours to review human generated narrative logs to manually identify and track when relevant equipment is listed as out of service
- NLP techniques utilized to read narrative logs and automatically keep track of unavailability time
